Having retired in 2009 I started looking for paternal and maternal ancestors as apart from my son I understood I was the last of the Dearden line. With the death of my mother all members of her Middlewich Clarke family line also came to an end.
Regretably I never asked family members the right questions or got them to write things down and now it's too late
Having traced both lines back much further than I ever imagined I am now concentrating on more extended family members and have been surprised to find living Dearden " cousins " still in England.
I would very much like to find what happened to Ralph Dearden born Prestwich 1842 the son of Samuel and Mary.
Ralph spent time in Lancaster prison in 1870 and was living in a lodging house in the parish of St Mary Salford by 1871. After this he simply dissapears. He is the only direct male Dearden decendent I can not account for back to 1800.
My current task is to link as many of the extended Mid Cheshire branches of my mother's side together to form a local database that may help other researchers with their own family trees
