My original research started where my mother's ended off. She had hunted for her Sosebee relatives from her father's line until they had solved most of the mysteries. My grandmother's Allen line was a blank though, so I began searching about 10 years ago on a very amateur level. My approach to the search was scattered and unfocused and it wasn't until I met a fellow Allen on a forum and I began to find others who were also searching that my methods became more focused. It was suggested to me that I find a male from the Allen line who would participate in the Allen yDNA project, which I did. It was not long before I began finding others who were searching for the same folks that I was, and the corroboration was a certain help!
I have many many many people to thank for their help, and while not all of the stuff in my tree may not be 100% accurate, it is a good start!
I have Sosebee, Allen, Goss, Stover, Whitley on my mother's side, with all the associated families and I have just talked my brother into donating DNA for our Williams side. If anybody has any questions, comments or corrections, please feel free to inform me.
